Traditional is the new chic. And today lets talk about one of my personal favourites, from the hand loom of Odisha, the Sambalpuri weave. Its beautiful, graceful and at the same time timeless and classic. You can never go wrong with a Sambalpuri saree, there are many options to choose from. For a business look/office look you can choose the cotton weave, perfect for Indian summers and for a more party appropriate option, you can go for the silks. You are sure to be the center of attraction in a room. It is not only a part of the latest saree trends, but its timeless. It is a classic beauty and you must own a piece in your trousseau.
August 1st being declared as the Sambalpuri day, I thought can I get a better occassion to style this beauty, and so here I am. I styled this gorgeous black saree with the square prints and hints of red in it. And it looked absolutely ethereal. Let me tell you a fact. You don’t need to heavily accessorize, this is a complete piece in itself.
Look– I have styled this with a Kalamkari blouse(the experimentation turned out quite well I must say). I have totally downplayed the accessories and just let the Sambalpuri saree work its charm.
You can add pieces of dainty jewelry and strappy heels to complete the look.
